General Questions
An AI interview assistant is a software tool that provides real-time support during job interviews. GhOst uses managed AI to help you work through technical coding questions, behavioral questions, and system design problems. It analyzes interview questions as they appear on your screen (and, optionally, spoken audio) and offers contextually relevant suggestions. Unlike prep-only tools, assistants like GhOst can run during live interviews on platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet — so you should use them only where assistance is permitted by the interviewer, employer, or platform.
GhOst supports all interview types: (1) Technical coding interviews - including algorithms, data structures, and live coding challenges, (2) Behavioral interviews - using frameworks like STAR method for structured responses, (3) System design interviews - providing architectural guidance and best practices, (4) Case study interviews - for consulting and business roles, (5) Panel interviews - managing multiple interviewers simultaneously. The product is designed to provide specialized guidance across these interview categories.
We provide email support for all users at support@ghostai.one, with priority handling for paid customers. Support is staffed during business hours (Monday–Friday), with limited weekend coverage. Per our published policies, formal grievances are acknowledged within 24 hours and billing queries typically within about two business days; other response times can vary with volume. We also provide documentation and onboarding help — see the Contact page for current support details.
Absolutely. GhOst is optimized for FAANG and other top-tier tech interviews across coding, system design, and behavioral rounds. Many candidates use credit packs for targeted prep before onsite loops, while others switch to unlimited when they are juggling multiple companies at once. For senior-level processes, premium capabilities can be layered in when deeper coaching is needed.
Yes! Startup interviews often involve diverse challenges including coding, product thinking, and cultural fit questions. GhOst excels at adapting to different interview styles. For startups, you'll appreciate features like quick problem-solving for take-home assignments, real-time coding assistance for pair programming sessions, and behavioral question coaching for founder interviews. GhOst helps you navigate the less standardized interview processes common at startups.
Getting started is simple: (1) Create your account at ghostai.one, (2) Download the GhOst desktop application for Windows or macOS, (3) Complete the quick setup to configure your preferences, (4) Practice with the mock interview mode to get comfortable with the interface, (5) Review your AI Studio settings, and (6) Use GhOst in interviews or assessments where assistance is permitted. We recommend trying it in low-stakes practice sessions first before an important interview.
Setup is quick for most people — download the app, sign in, and configure a few basic settings. We recommend spending some additional time practicing with the interface so you're comfortable before a real interview. Exact time varies by device and how much you customize, so plan for a short setup session plus a little practice.
Technical Details
GhOst works by running as a desktop application that monitors your interview environment. When a question appears during your interview (whether on screen or spoken), GhOst's AI analyzes it and provides suggestions in a discreet overlay. The tool uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and optional audio transcription to understand questions, then leverages GhOst's managed access to leading AI providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — to generate responses, with the available model lineup updated over time. GhOst includes desktop privacy controls designed to keep its interface out of supported screen-sharing captures and reduce unnecessary on-screen exposure.
GhOst is engineered for discretion through a native desktop architecture and privacy controls designed for supported screen-sharing workflows. Compatibility can vary by operating system, platform, capture mode, and software version, and no tool can guarantee zero detection risk in every environment. Review the relevant policies and test your exact setup before an important session.
GhOst is designed for broad Windows and macOS interview workflows, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, HackerRank, CodeSignal, Codility, CoderPad, and LeetCode. Exact behavior can depend on the platform version and capture mode, so check current compatibility guidance and test your setup before a high-stakes session.
GhOst is optimized for responsive, real-time guidance. Actual latency depends on the selected model, network conditions, question complexity, and device. Coding workflows include solution and complexity guidance, while behavioral workflows can produce structured response frameworks.
GhOst supports a wide range of popular programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, C#, Go, Rust, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Kotlin, and Scala, among others. It also works with many spoken languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, German, and French, which makes it useful for international and multilingual interviews. The exact set of supported languages can change over time, so check the current product documentation for the latest coverage.
GhOst runs as a native desktop app on Windows and macOS (Windows 10 and later, and recent versions of macOS). You'll also need a stable internet connection for real-time features, since the managed AI runs through GhOst's service. Exact system requirements can change with new releases, so check the current requirements on the install/download page before setting up.
GhOst is focused first on interview substance — strong, structured answers for coding, system-design, and behavioral questions. Any communication- or delivery-focused capabilities can vary by plan and product version, and the available feature set is updated over time, so we don't want to overstate specifics here. For the exact features included in your plan, check the current product and pricing pages or contact support before relying on a particular capability.
GhOst's advanced, higher-tier capabilities are updated over time, and specific behaviors can depend on your plan, operating system, and product version. We don't want to overstate any biometric or non-verbal analysis features without confirming exactly what's available to you. For the current feature set included in your plan — and how any advanced capabilities work — check the product and pricing pages or contact support before relying on them in a live session.
Security is a priority. Per our Privacy Policy, GhOst uses TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest, role-based access controls with least-privilege principles, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, and regular security audits and penetration testing of our own infrastructure. We do not use advertising networks or behavioural tracking. Data handling and breach-notification practices are governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and are described in full on our Privacy page — review it for the current, authoritative details.
Retention depends on the type of data. Per our Privacy Policy, account data, billing records, security logs, support communications, and authorization documents each have their own retention periods (some set by Indian tax and IT rules). After cancellation, client data is generally retained for about 30 days for recovery purposes and then deleted in line with the policy. You can request deletion of your data through your account settings or by contacting us. See the Privacy page for the current, authoritative retention schedule.
Pricing & Plans
GhOst keeps pricing simple with two paid styles. Credit packs are best for flexible usage: Basic is $19.99 / ₹1,899 for 3 credits, Plus is $39.99 / ₹3,799 for 8 total credits, and Pro is $57.49 / ₹5,399 for 15 total credits. If you need continuous access, the unlimited subscription is $49.99 / ₹4,699 monthly or $149.99 / ₹13,999 yearly. One credit covers one hour of live interview usage, and a limited trial lets you evaluate the product first. Prices, credit validity, and any taxes are confirmed at checkout, and refunds follow the current Cancellations & Refunds policy — review those pages for the latest terms.
A limited trial is available so you can evaluate the managed-AI workflow before choosing a paid option. The exact entitlement is shown during signup and checkout. Continue with one-time credit packs for flexible usage or an unlimited monthly or yearly plan for heavier interview volume.
Refunds follow our Cancellations & Refunds policy. New customers may be eligible for a full refund within a limited satisfaction window (currently 7 calendar days of the first payment) if the service was not delivered as described and the policy conditions are met, and additional refund grounds apply if we fail to deliver the service. Because these terms can change, review the current Cancellations & Refunds page or contact billing@ghostai.one before purchasing.
How GhOst Compares
GhOst and Final Round AI are both AI interview assistants, and the right choice depends on what you need. GhOst's verified strengths are a native Windows and macOS desktop app, managed AI with no API keys to configure, one workflow that covers coding, behavioral, and system-design rounds, desktop privacy controls for supported screen-sharing captures, and flexible pricing with both one-time credit packs and unlimited monthly or yearly plans. GhOst tends to fit candidates who want a desktop-first system spanning the full interview cycle and a choice between pay-as-you-go and unlimited access. Final Round AI may suit other buyers depending on their priorities. Competitor features, pricing, and platform support change over time, so compare the current details on each vendor's site before deciding.
GhOst and Cluely serve overlapping but different needs, so the better choice depends on your goal. GhOst is built specifically around interviews: its verified strengths are a native Windows and macOS desktop app, managed AI with no API keys to configure, one workflow covering coding, behavioral, and system-design rounds, desktop privacy controls for supported screen-sharing captures, and flexible pricing with one-time credit packs plus unlimited monthly or yearly plans. It tends to fit candidates whose main goal is interview performance across technical and behavioral rounds. Cluely may be the better fit for buyers focused on broader, general-purpose meeting assistance. Features and pricing on both sides change over time, so compare the current details on each vendor's site before deciding.
GhOst is the stronger fit for candidates who want more than a coding-only workflow: managed AI with no API-key setup, coding plus behavioral and system-design support, native Windows and macOS apps, desktop privacy controls, and a choice of one-time credits or unlimited plans. Interview Coder remains a focused option for coding rounds; compare current features and pricing before choosing.
Ethics & Best Practices
Whether AI assistance is appropriate depends entirely on the context and the rules that apply to your interview. GhOst is designed first as a preparation and practice tool — rehearsing with mock interviews, reviewing coding and system-design concepts, and building confidence before the real thing. It can also support workflows where outside help is explicitly permitted, such as many take-home and open-book assessments, and can assist with accessibility needs. It should not be used to misrepresent your ability or to violate rules that prohibit outside assistance. Interview, employer, school, and platform policies differ, so confirm what is allowed for your specific process and use GhOst only where assistance is permitted. Used this way, it helps you prepare better and perform at your genuine best.
Use GhOst first as a preparation and practice tool: (1) Rehearse with mock interviews so concepts feel natural under pressure, (2) Use it to find and study your weak areas rather than to replace real learning, (3) Lean on it for workflows where outside help is explicitly permitted, such as many take-home and open-book assessments, (4) Use it to support accessibility needs, (5) Be honest about your abilities and don't use it to misrepresent your skills, and (6) Check the rules that apply to your interview, employer, school, or platform, and use GhOst only where assistance is allowed. It works best alongside genuine skill development, not as a substitute for it.
No software can guarantee zero detection risk across every operating system, platform, capture mode, and version. GhOst is designed to reduce on-screen exposure through desktop privacy controls, but you should test your exact setup, understand the applicable policies, and use AI assistance only where it is permitted.
